We pride ourselves on a wide spectrum of members ranging from 14 to 80 years of age.

In September 1947 a group of Stockport Referees attended the Stockport FA referees committee where they were told that the FA did not see that a dedicated Referees Society was necessary.
The group of Referees decided to meet on Friday 21st November 1947 at St Andrews Mission.
The Referees created the Stockport Referees Society and held the first meeting on Thursday 27th November 1947 with 23 referees in attendance.
Having always having a stable membership, in 2004 the New Chairman set a 10 year goal to make Stockport one of the best societies in the country. Ten years later we are the second largest society in England.
The Society's principles have always been and will continue to be - Here to help and promote refereeing in the Stockport area.
